In July 2025, the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) updated the questions used in examinations for the Amateur Radio Operator Certificate with Basic qualification.

As a result, we made numerous changes to our online training. We also took the opportunity to modernize everything by migrating to a new platform specializing in training.
The new platform with the revised material is online at Formation.raqi.ca. At that URL, you will find an FAQ (frequently asked questions), a demo (sample lesson) and the course outline freely accessible.

Our self-paced web-based training is valid for all persons with an address in Canada. The course is available in English or French.
You can undertake your studies at your leisure without a time limit. Note that an account left dormant for 5 years can be deleted.

There are two ways to register:

1 - If you have a PayPal account or are willing to use PayPal (and your credit card) once without creating a PayPal account:
Visit our training website and click on the desired course. You will be invited to create an account on our site from which you can make your purchase. That will rapidly grant you access to your course without the administration needing to be involved.

2 - You prefer to make an Interac e-transfer or mail a cheque:
Contact the administration (registration@raqi.ca) to signify your intent.
You can then create your student's account on the training site. See the section Is this your first time here?
We will activate your account as soon as possible upon receipt of your payment.
